Brunswick Community Hospital Nominates Board of Trustees

SUPPLY - Brunswick Community Hospital, which recently joined North Carolina not-for-profit healthcare system Novant Health, announced nominees for its new Board of Trustees at the July 12 Brunswick County Hospital Authority meeting.
The new Board of Trustees, which is made up of physicians, community representatives and two Brunswick County Hospital Authority members, will review and approve corporate policies and programs, strategy and new ventures. The board members will be officially appointed in early August.
Physicians nominated to the Board of Trustees include Timothy Gibble, M.D., Atlantic Internal Medicine; Chris Isenhour, M.D., Chicora Medical Group; and William Faircloth, M.D., East Coast Internal Medicine and Brunswick Community Hospital Chief of Staff.
Brunswick County Hospital Authority members nominated to the 13-member board are Ron Anderson and Jerry Lewis, who were chosen by the Authority to serve on the board.
Community representatives include John "Jack" Carpenter, retired Lucent Technologies executive; Marion Warren, district court judge; Robert W. "Chip" Leavitt, Jr., CEO/general manager, Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation; Stephen Greiner, president, Brunswick Community College; Glenda Browning, Browning Tire Town/Browning Enterprise; Joseph Gore, volunteer, special assistant to the president, Brunswick Community College; and Betty Williamson, president, Williamson Realty. Paul Wiles, Novant Health president and CEO, will also serve on the board.
"The hospital board will greatly benefit from the varied backgrounds and experiences of this diverse group of community members, Hospital Authority members and physicians," commented Denise Mihal, Brunswick Community Hospital's president and CEO. "Each member brings a unique perspective that will help guide the hospital as we serve patients and our communities and as we embark on an exciting future."
Brunswick Community Hospital is a 60-bed community hospital with approximately 300 employees. The hospital offers a 24-hour Emergency Center, Maternity Center, radiology and laboratory services, critical care units, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary services, physical therapy, respiratory care and surgical services. Novant Health consists of eight hospitals in North Carolina's Charlotte, Triad and southeastern regions: Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville and Presbyterian Hospital Matthews of the Charlotte area; Forsyth Medical Center, Medical Park Hospital and Thomasville Medical Center in the Triad region; and Brunswick Community Hospital. Other facilities and programs of Novant Health include two nursing home and senior residential facilities, 146 physician clinics, outpatient surgery and diagnostic centers, rehabilitation programs and community health outreach programs.
